Protesters call for deportation of African asylum seekers

More than 100 protesters, amoung them members of the right-wing Strong Israel party and residents of Tel Aviv's southern neighborhoods, are calling on the government to take a tougher stand against refugees.


The protest took place near Tel Aviv's Central Bus Station, an area which is seen as suffering from the influx of mostly Eritrean and Sudanese refugees, in wake of the arrest of an Eritrean man suspected of raping an 83-year-old woman in the neighborhood two weeks ago. (Boaz Fyler)
