Obama: 'Fiscal cliff' deal is 'within sight'
President Barack Obama says it appears that an agreement to avoid the so-called "fiscal cliff" is "in sight," but he says it's not yet complete and work continues before a midnight deadline.

Obama expressed regret Monday afternoon that the work of his administration and Congress won't produce a "grand bargain" to address the country's chronic deficit spending, but he said that "with this Congress, it couldn't happen at that time." (Reuters)
