Abbas: PA must unite efforts to save Jerusalem
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas gave a speech via a live feed from government offices in Ramallah in front of 100,000 people attending a Fatah rally in Gaza City, marking the 48 anniversary of the movement.


Abbas congratulated the crowd and said that "Our people are living under an occupation and a siege and our mission is to unite our efforts to save our capital Jerusalem." The Palestinian president mentioned in his speech prominent Palestinians killed in recent years, among them Ahmed Yassin and Abdel Aziz al-Rantissi. (Elior Levi)
