Egypt says foiled car bombing near Gaza border

A senior Egyptian intelligence official in northern Sinai says the military has foiled an attempted car bombing near a church and a military camp along the Egypt-Gaza border.

The official, who spoke Monday on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media, says Egyptian intelligence received word that militants were preparing a car bomb in a deserted part of the city of Rafah, which borders Gaza. (AP)
