US: Jack Lew expected to be new treasury secretary
US President Barack Obama is expected to announce tomorrow his pick of Jack Lew as treasury secretary.

White House officials would not confirm that a final decision had been made. But aides did not dispute that Lew is emerging as the consensus choice. If appointed, Lew, an Orthodox Jew and the White House chief of staff, will lead the treasury at a time of hard battles against Congress. (Yitzhak Benhorin, AP)
