Livni: Deficit connected to diplomatic stalemate
Hatnua Chairwoman Tzipi Livni commented on news that Israel's deficit is double than what had been predicted. "The huge deficit and the deterioration of the economy are directly connected to the political stalemate (with Palestinians). Israel is dependent on exports and we are currently facing worsening international isolation that does not foster investment."

"Everything is connected - Netanyahu's priorities are political, he prefers certain sectors over a diplomatic agreement and over the middle class - this is the cause of the deteriorating economy and deficit of slightly less than NIS 40 billion (roughly $10.5 billion)." (Moran Azulay)
