White House, Defense Dept. disagree on Mali response
The White House and the US Department of Defense disagree on the course of action to take following the intervention of Islamist groups in Mali and their incursions in other parts of West Africa, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The current events in neighboring Mali and Algeria have given rise to a lively debate within the administration of President Obama whether these radical elements pose a risk significant enough to cause a military response, the newspaper said, citing anonymous officials. (AFP)
