Officer convicted of killing man because of wife

The Beersheba District Court convicted Border Guard Superintendent Nir Somech of manslaughter. Somech was charged with the murder of Ben Tal, who came to Somech's home following a dispute regarding the victim's relationship with Somech's wife in 2009.

The officer claimed in his testimony that he shot Tal in self defense, explaining the latter charged at him with an iron wrench. Somech added that Tal was obsessed with his wife, harassing her. (Ilana Curiel)
