Top IDF officer gets suspended sentence over soldier's death

A military court in Tel Aviv handed Colonel (Res.) Shlomi Cohen, who was convicted of negligence in the death of IDF soldier Assaf Waxman during a training accident in the north, a one and a half years suspended sentence.


Battalion Commander Lt.-Col (Res.) Asaf Rafeld, was severely reprimanded for his involvement in the accident, which occurred five years ago. (Yoav Zitun)
