Syria: Attempts made to hold opposition, Assad talks
Arab diplomatic sources told the Syrian, pro-government Al Watan newspaper that attempts are being made to organize a meeting between the Syrian National Coalition leader Moaz Alkhatib and Syrian Vice President Farouk al-Sharaa.

According to reports, Arab League chief Nabil al-Arabi and UN envoy Lakhdar Brahimi spoke in Cairo on Sunday about the option of holding such a meeting. In the past, al-Sharaa's name was mentioned numerous times by Syrian opposition and by Turkey as the person who can conduct negotiations on Assad's behalf. (Roi Kais)
