Colombia to send mission for German hostages

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos says he has authorized a commission of Red Cross officials and civilians to travel to an undetermined drop off point to pick up two German hostages he hopes will be freed by leftist rebels.


Brothers Guenther Otto Breuer, 72, and Uwe Breuer, 69, were seized by National Liberation Army rebels in Colombia in a coca-growing zone near the Venezuelan border while apparently on a global driving journey that had previously taken them to China, Iran, Iraq and much of South America. (AP)
