UN envoy worried about 'volatile situation in Mideast'

Robert Serry, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, expressed his concern over mounting tensions in the region following Tuesday's death of a Palestinian prisoner in Israel and rocket attacks from Gaza into Israel.

Serry said in a statement that he is "worried about the volatile situation on the ground, as exemplified by renewed firing of rockets from Gaza into Israel yesterday and this morning, and continued tensions over unresolved prisoner issues." (Ynet)
