AG opposes bill offering preferential treatment for ex-soldiers

Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein opposes proposed legislation that would afford preferential treatment to citizens who have served in the army or civil service, claiming the practice will lead to discrimination.

During the session of the Ministerial Committee on Legislation, during which the proposed legislation was authorized (to pass onto the Knesset plenum for a first vote), Weinstein sounded his opposition. A similar position prompted Netanyahu to stall a similar initiative during the prevision Knesset. (Aviel Mengazi)
