Assad denies using chemical weapons, says charges are political

Syrian President Bashar Assad commented for the first times on reports that his army used chemical weapons in an attack near Damascus last week. "How could the government use chemical weapons or any other weapon of mass destruction where its own forces are present? The charges are political," he told the Russian paper Izvestia.

He further added that the West realizes that it won't have control if they start a war against Syria. (Ynet)
