Former MI chief: Israel doesn't need US to strike Iran

Amos Yadlin said that the Iranian crisis should be solved by diplomatic means, as long as that is possible. However, in an interview for the American magazine New Republic, Yadlin said that should the diplomatic route prove unfruitful, "Israel doesn't need the US on D-day and can handle itself militarily."

Yadlin, former chief of Military Intelligence, added that the most successful military operation will only serve to delay Iranian plans for five years, and that to make it into a decade, the US's involvement is neccessary. (Ynet)
