Supreme court justice fined for speeding
A local traffic court has ruled that Supreme Court Justice Hanan Melzer must pay a NIS 1,800 (roughly $520) fine or face up to a month in jail for speeding.

The judge was caught driving 135 kph (83 mph) in his Audi in a 90 kph (55 mph) zone in 2011. His license was evoked for two months. Melzer was not present at the court but the ruling was reached as part of a plea bargain which included a confession on Melzer's part. (Raanan Ben-Zur)
