Syria files complaint to UN against Israel over Wednesday incident

Syria has filed an official complaint to the United Nations over what is claims is a recent Israeli attack in the Golan Heights, accusing Jerusalem of supporting rebels fighting to topple President Bashar Assad, semi-official Iranian news agency Fars reported Friday.

The complaint, sent to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the UN Security Council president, condemns the alleged Israeli attack on Wednesday as "flagrant violation of the disengagement agreement of 1974, the UN Charter and the international law."

On Wednesday, IDF soldiers used gunfire and tanks shells to thwart an attempt of three terrorists to plant an explosive on the Israel-Syrian border fence. (Ynetnews)
