Iran says won't choose another UN envoy after US refuses visa to Aboutalebi

TEHRAN - Iran does not intend to choose another ambassador for the UN after Washington's refusal to issue a visa to Hamid Aboutalebi because of his alleged role in the hostage crisis at the US embassy in Tehran in 1979, a senior official said Saturday.

"We are not considering another choice," the Mehr agency quoted Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi as saying. (AFP)
