State Comptroller report: Failure to integrate disabled people in workplace

A disabled person trying to get a job faces an impossible amount of red-tape, involving many government offices and ministries, State Comptroller Joseph Shapira said in a report published Wednesday afternoon.

Shapira stressed the lack of cooperation and congruity between these bodies regarding disabled people employment.

According to the report, in 2011 some 750,000 people are considered as having either a moderate or severe disability, and their employment rate is 51 percent, compared to 74 percent of the non-disabled population. (Yaron Drukman)
