Jordan's King Abdullah II meets Kerry, urges him to continue peace process

Jordan's King Abdullah II met Tuesday night with US Secretary of State John Kerry and discussed the latest regional developments, specifically the now defunct peace process.

During the meeting, the king stressed the importance of resuming talks between Israel and Palestinians towards the establishment of a viable and independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, Jordanian news agency Petra reported.

The king further noted the important role the US plays as a mediator in the process, and reiterated Jordan's commitment to support the talks. (Ynetnews)
