Egypt pushes ceasefire proposal for early Tuesday morning

Egypt has proposed an initiative Monday night to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip, urging Israelis and Palestinians to cease hostilities starting Tuesday at 0600 GMT, after a deadly week.

Cairo proposed that cease-fire shortly before the opening of a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Arab League convened in Cairo to discuss the Israeli offensive that has killed more than 180 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in seven days.
