Anti-Semitic fliers distributed in Jewish area of Sydney

Homes in Bondi neighborhood reportedly awoke to hand-delivered pamphlets claiming Jews control the media, promoting local wqhite power group.

Households in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood of Sydney on Monday received fliers calling on "white Australia" to take action against Jews, the Algemeiner website reported.

According to the report, residents of the suburb of Bondi found the hand-delivered fliers slipped under their front doors and in their mail boxes in the morning,

The flier includes standard anti-Semitic claims that Jews control "all Hollywood studios and 97% of US newspapers and media."

It also argues that "Jews have been kicked out of countries 109 times throughout history… Could it be that having them in a European country is harmfull (sic) to the host????"

Abraham Blasenstein, a Jewish resident of Bondi who received the flier, told The Algemeiner that “It is part of an increase in anti-Semitism that such low people as the ones who issued these flyers feel comfortable coming out of the woodwork.”

He said , however, that unlike the Jews in Europe in the run-up to the Holocaust, "at least now in Australia it is reasonable to believe that most decent people will find this type of leaflet appalling.”

The flier also includes a call for membership in local white power group Squadron 88, The Algemeiner said, as well as a reference to notorious racist website Stormfront.

Earlier this month, Jewish pupils in Sydney were terrorized by a gang of teenagers who stormed their school bus and apparently hurled racial abuse and threats.

The bus carrying about 30 children aged 5 to 12 years from three Jewish schools were subjected to "physical and racial threats" by a group of eight male teenagers.

One of the passengers who called for help during the incident, said: "They're threatening to slit our throats; they're chanting 'Palestine' and they're going crazy about Palestine - 'must kill the Jews' and 'heil Hitler.'"

New South Wales state police said five minors were arrested over the incident.
