Names of two men killed by mortar fire Tuesday cleared for publication

It has been cleared for publication that the two Israelis killed by mortar fire on Tuesday are Kibbutz Nirim security chief  Ze'ev Etzion (55) and his deputy Shahar Melamed (43).


During the hit they accompanied a team of electricians that was going to fix the kibbutz electricity infrastructure that was damaged in the previous rocket attack. During the Code Red alert they tried to find shelter, but didn't make it on time. They were critically injured and were rushed to Soroka hospital in Be'er Sheva where they died of their wounds.
