Popular Italian singer-songwriter Eros Ramazzotti will arrive in Israel this spring for one concert at Tel Aviv's Menorah Mivtachim Arena on April 30.
Ramazzotti, 52, is considered one of the most successful musicians to come out of Italy. He is being brought to Israel by the Helicon music group and by Guy Besser and Shay Mor Yosef of BlueStone Productions, which was responsible for Enrique Iglesias' two successful Tel Aviv concerts.
Ramazzotti was born to a poor family in Rome. He began his career in 1981, when he participated in a youth music contest and reached the final. He then won his first contract with Italian Label DDD.
He released his debut album, "Cuori agitati" (Troubled Hearts) in 1985. It included a big hit, "Una storia importante" (An Important Story), which sold a million copies in France alone. A year later, he released his second album, "Nuovi eroi" (New Heroes), which was also very successful.
His seventh studio album, "Dove c'è musica" (Where There Is Music), which was released in 1996, sold as many as 6 million copies. His latest album was released in May 2015.
Throughout his career, he cooperated with international artists such as Cher, Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, Anastacia and Luciano Pavarotti. He has sold more than 60 million copies of his albums so far, making him one of the most successful musicians in Europe.
Ramazzotti will arrive in Israel as part of his world tour, "Perfetto." Ticket prices will range from NIS 290 (about $75) to NIS 1,800 ($464), depending on seat location.
