International Jewish cuisines
English-speaking Jewish students in Israel tasted various foods from different Jewish communities around the world.
They thought acharuli khachpuri, a traditional Georgian cuisine, looks like an Australian football, and Gondi dumpling, a Persian meatball dish, like matzah balls. They also opened their sinuses when they tasted injera with senafish, Ethiopian bread and mustard.

While the students lacked familiarity with much of the foods, they did recognize gefilte fish, a popular American-Jewish staple.
