The IDF and the regional council of the upper Galilee conducted, for the first time, an exercise perparing for a scenario in which local communities would be evacuated in the event of a war in the north. Residents of Kibbutz Ma’ayan Baruch stayed in bomb shelters and a number of communities were evacuated in buses.
Every bus was accompanied by a military vehicle and an ambulance.
According to the scenario, around 5,500 residents were expected to be evacuated from 14 communities parallel to the northern border.
