Peres launches Israeli innovation center
The new center will tell the story of Israel's transformation from a desert wasteland into a world-leading technological powerhouse; Center will also serve as an educational facility to advance technology promoting co-existence.
He was joined by President Reuven Rivlin, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai, all of whom will spoke at the event. The ceremony was also attended by leaders of the high-tech industry in Israel.
The Israeli innovation center will present the story of Israel as the “start-up nation” which now stands at the forefront of technology and science and spearheads groundbreaking Israeli inventions which have dramatically change the lives of millions around the world.
At the exposition event, details of the plans to open the Israel Innovation Center provided a first glimpse into how it will look and will catalogue a range of Israeli developments and inventions which have changed, or are set to change, the world.
These will all be displayed for the first time using the latest simulation technology. Following the speeches by the political dignitaries, ‘Mini TEDtalks' (Technology, Entertainment and Design) will be held on the subject of ‘My Israeli innovation.’
The center is expected to officially be opened in 2018 to hundreds of thousands of visitors from Israel and across the world who will be able to view firsthand Israel’s transformation from an arid and desolate desert into an international technological powerhouse.
The center will also serve as an educational facility encouraging the development of innovation promoting co-existence, peace, the decrease in the number of checkpoints and the reduction in the gaps of scientific and technological knowledge.
