Report: US disavows Lieberman's assertion Lebanese army now part of Hezbollah
Official Lebanese sources told the Al-Hayat newspaper the US ambassador to Lebanon Elizabeth Richard told senior political and clerical officials in the country Washington had not part in Minister of Defense Avigdor Lieberman's statements purporting the Lebanese army was part and parcel of Hezbollah.
There was no change in the American position supporting the Lebanese army, Richard said, and "What Lieberman said neither binds us nor is supported by us."
