Kfar Saba, Tzur Yitzhak, Rosh Haayin and Petah Tikva residents complained of shortness of breath and breathing difficulties in the past 24 hours as a result of smoke inhalation near their homes.
An inquiry into the matter by the Ministry of Environmental Protection turned up a large fire in the Palestinian city of Qalqilya led to the increased air pollution.
The "Citizens for clean air" operational board claimed the pollution can be sourced to a nearby garbage dump.
