Israeli arrested at Taba border crossing over bullets found in his luggage
An Israeli citizen was arrested yesterday at the Taba border crossing after two M16 bullets were found in his bag.
With the assistance of the Israeli consul in Egypt, the Israeli was released today from detention.
This is the third case in Egypt alone in the last month in which an Israeli tourist was arrested after bullets were found in his bags, left there from their time in the military.
The Foreign Ministry called upon Israeli travelers to check their bags carefully before leaving for Israel. "Lack of attention creates distress and unnecessary risks, including arrest," the Foreign Ministry said.
