Sataf forest fire

Some 30 firefighter crews, comprised of about 75 fire fighters are currently battling a blaze that is spreading throughout the Sataf national forest, located in the Jerusalem Hills.
Earlier, ten firefighting planes were dispatched to help aid the crews control the fast spreading flames.
After assessing the situation, Israel Fire and Rescue Services decided that the forces operating in the forest would continue their attempts to extinguish the fire throughout the night.
There is currently no danger to settlements in the area, as the inferno remains contained and out of reach of any inhabited areas.
The fire erupted somewhere between Mount Eitan and Ein Hatayasim, and according to estimations by the Jewish National Fund, some 700 dunams (173 acres) of woodland were consumed by the flames.
