East J'lem resident acquitted of attempted Eilat terrorist attack charge

The Be'er Sheva District Court acquitted 23-year-old east Jerusalem resident Khalil Nimri of conspiring to provide assistance to the enemy in wartime.

The state attorney's office charged Nimri and Ashraf Salameh—both of whom lived and worked in Eilat at the time—in 2015 for allegedly planning to place explosives in one of the city's hotels with the intention of killing a group of Ashkenazi Haredi tourists staying there.
