French President Macron speaks with Netanyahu and Iran's Rouhani about the situation in Lebanon

French President Emmanuel Macron spoke on the phone with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday.

According to Macron's office, he spoke to the two Middle East leaders about the tension in the region and especially about the situation in Lebanon, whose Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri's recent resignation under unconfirmed circumstances plunged into a state of uncertainty. Macron reiterated his position that Lebanon's stability and sovereignty should be maintained.
