'Supply of electricity to Gaza is surrender to Hamas' -parents of Hadar Goldin
The parents of Sgt. Hadar Goldin, whose body is being held by Hamas in Gaza, expressed disappointment with the government after Minister of Energy Dr Yuval Steinitz directed the Electric Company to renew the electricity supply to Gaza no later than Tuesday.
"The Israeli government, under Netanyahu and the cabinet ministers, chose to give in to Hamas and not condition the renewal of the energy supply to Gaza on the return of (missing soldiers) Oron Shaul and Hadar Goldin," they said.
They added that "All humanitarian moves regarding Gaza by Israel and the international community should be conditioned on the immediate return of Oron and Hadar (to their families)."
The government decided to renew the electricity supply to Gaza upon request by the Palestinian Authority. In June, the PA asked the Israeli government to suspend electricity supply over a payment dispute
