Family, friends of terror victim visit gravesite
Raziel Shevah's family and friends gather at his gravesite after mourning period, hope and pray government will speedily remove obstacles, fulfill Raziel's will to legalize Havat Gilad outpost; wife calls on citizens across political spectrum to visit home to offer condolences.
The victim's family read psalms and eulogized the deceased victim of the attack. His father Moshe asked that his soul, "Pray so the prime minister will heed his will and open his heart to building the land of Israel." Earlier, the family commenced the writing of a Torah scroll in Raziel's memory.
"You are now much closer to God then the rest of us," continued his father. "We are praying that God will instill in the hearts of decision makers the removal of all obstacles so that we can fulfill the commandment of settling the land of Israel. Pray for us, for your wife, for your children."
Yossi Dagan, Head of the Samaria Regional Council also spoke near the gravesite and promised to do everything in his power to fulfill the Raziel's will. "We promise you that in this spot there will be a building boom in your memory, so that all the murderers know the nation of Israel is strong and lives on."
Earlier in the day, Opposition Head MK Isaac Herzog visited the Shevah home to offer comfort. Herzog said: "Raziel radiated love, brotherhood, peace and friendship for all those around him. You have become the heart of a special community in Havat Gilad. This is a terrible tragedy and at this moment we are united with the family and offering comfort."
Raziel's widow noted that her husband's murder was not political: "We feel the embrace of only one side of the political spectrum. We request that the left too come to comfort; our home is open to all and Raziel loved all." Monday, Zionist Union MK Eitan Cabel visited the family to offer condolences.
Meanwhile, the residents of Havat Gilad are awaiting the government's meeting this Sunday and are hoping that Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman's pitch to legalize the outpost is indeed brought up in the session.
