Syrian official: 'We'll down any hostile aircraft same as we did the Israeli one'
Syrian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Faisal Mekdad commented on the incident this past weekend as part of which an Israeli F-16 jet was downed and said, "Just as we shot down that plane, we'll shoot down any hostile aircraft. Syrian skies are not breached to invaders."
Mekdad added that Syrian President Bashar Assad was not "using chemical weapons because he didn't have any, and we consider its use a crime. We've given away what chemical weapons we had and they were destroyed."
