A female IDF soldier collapsed on Tuesday morning at a base in south Israel and has been described as being in serious condition.
She was evacuated by Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics after being given emergency aid to Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon, where her condition was stabilized.
The soldier was transferred to the intensive care unit in the hospital but remained in serious condition by the afternoon.
The soldier serves as a commander on the Zikim basic training base for Home Front Command soldiers near the coastal city of Ashkelon.
On Monday, the soldier reported that she was not feeling well, and was told to rest in her room after being treated on-base.
After she collapsed the next morning, her friends gave her first aid before an IDF medical crew took over and evacuated her with MDA.
In October last year, a 19-year-old IDF female soldier who was jailed in Prison 4 collapsed and lost consciousness and was subsequently pronounced dead despite efforts to revive her at Beilinson Hospital.
Three months earlier, another 20-year-old soldier, Sgt. Mikhail Pesach from Migdal HaEmek in northern Israel, died after taking part in activities in a water park in the city of Holon during a military social outing.
