Information on PM's calls withheld due to 'ongoing investigation'
Private attorney contacts PMO seeking information about telephone calls, meetings between PM Netanyahu or his chief of staff and Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Council officials; request denied citing 'ongoing investigation,' possibly hinting details relating to police's corruption probe into Bezeq, known as Case 4000.
Attorney Shahar Ben Meir, a private lawyer, recently submitted a freedom of information request to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and requested to receive information on any telephone calls or meetings between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Chief of Staff Yoav Horowitz and members of the Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Council.
In response, Ben Meir received an official letter from Daniela Rabotnicoff, office manager for the PMO's director-general, which turned down the request for information.
"Pursuant to the Justice Ministry's instruction, it will not be possible to deliver the requested information due to an ongoing investigation," the letter said.
Another request by Ben Meir to receive dates of telephone conversations between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Shaul Elovitch from 2014 to 2016 was also turned down due to an "ongoing investigation."
