The government has approved the transfer of half a billion shekels to strengthen peripheral cities such as Kiryat Shmona, Shlomi, Metula and Yeruham.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented, "These are important decisions strengthening the periphery and Israel's social cohesion. Work continues."
Treasury Minister Moshe Kahlon also commented on the decision, saying, "This constitutes a direct continuation of the government's policies for shoring up the northern and southern periphery. The decision emphasizes developing quality employment hubs at a fair wage and strengthening structures to allow communities to grow."
