PM consulting Justice Hayut, Aharon Barak, Rivlin on overriding power clause
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to meet with Supreme Court President Justice Esther Hayut in light of the coalition’s effort to advance the "overriding power clause".
The attorney general told the prime minister that it was inappropriate to discuss the issue of the authority of the Supreme Court without consulting the president. The prime minister agreed and even announced that a team on his behalf would also meet with retired Supreme Court President Aharon Barak and retired Deputy Elyakim Rubinstein. The Supreme Court President's Office said: "No comment."
