Lebanon says committed to Arab peace initiative

Lebanon's Prime Minister Hariri held a joint press conference in Beirut with Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel as they concluded their meeting on Friday.

Hariri said his country is committed to the "UN's 1701 resolution" made following the 2006 Lebanon war to ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

"I've made it clear that Lebanon is committed to the Arab peace initiative approved in the Arab league summit in Beirut and continues to see Jerusalem as Palestine's capital," he added.
