Israel, Ukraine sign free trade agreement

Israel's Economy Minister Eli Cohen and his Ukrainian counterpart Stepan Kubiv signed a free trade agreement between the two nations on Monday in a ceremony in Jerusalem attended by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko.

The agreement includes free Israeli access to the Ukrainian market with many products that have so far been subject to import taxes. In return, Israel will give tax benefits to many products from Ukraine.

The move is expected to benefit the Israeli consumer, lower the cost of food and increase exports.
