CEC: Vote turnout slightly up on April elections

The Central Elections Commission says 69.4% of eligible voters cast ballots in Israel's unprecedented repeat elections Tuesday, a slightly larger number than took part in April's vote.

The commission says 4,440,141 votes were cast by the time polls around the country closed at 10pm.

Turnout in April's elections was 68.5%. The Knesset voted to dissolve itself weeks after the vote when Netanyahu was unable to form a majority coalition.
