Police on Sunday arrested an elderly resident of Rishon LeTsiyon on suspicion of abusing his two cats.
According to the suspect, who is in his 60s, he tied the cats with an iron wire, causing a deep cut to one of the pets.
The cats were transferred to the municipal veterinarian center. Police said they will request an extension of the suspect's remand.
