The Health Ministry reported Monday that 5,861 new coronavirus cases have been diagnosed since midnight.
With some 81,000 tests conducted Sunday, the contagion rate stands at 7.2%.
Out of the 69,861 patients battling the disease, 1,065 are in serious condition, with 262 connected to ventilators.
The death toll since the start of the pandemic currently stands at 3,695 after 10 patients passed away on Monday.
