The Health Ministry Sunday evening reported that 2,898 new coronavirus cases have been diagnosed since midnight.
The death toll since the start of the pandemic rose to 3,989.
Out of 83,104 patients battling the disease, 1,177 are in serious condition, with 282 connected to ventilators.
