31. Any grand projects to attract straight young women too?...
Tahl ,   Israel   (11.16.05)
What about the straight men's needs? We're getting tired and weary of the local stuck-up klafte's.
32. Gil
Martin ,   Berlin, Germany   (11.16.05)
Nazis said gay men should be wiped out since they hindered the germanic race from procreation and therefore tortured and killed some 100 000 gay men, victims which have been ignored for many decades. And making children not because of love but for political reasons will create only unhappy lives. Think of the many horrible matrimonies of gay men who were not allowed to be what they are .. and of the horror of children growing up in families built on lies. Thomas Mann was a gay man who had 6 children, 2 of them committed suicide, 2 were drugeaters, 2 were gays 1 lesbian. So it was a great disaster. Love must be free and world will become better. I had so wonderful love with isreali men :-)
33. Why not? Budapest, Gay capital of Eastern EU
GABOR ,   Budapest   (11.16.05)
HAJRA TEL AVIV... WOW ISRAEL !!! I think it's a good thing because it shows Israel is getting to be more and more liberal and democratic! Down with ultraortodox bigottry! We are already Gay Capital of Eastern Central Europe... There is nothing bed in this! I have been to Tel Aviv, it's one of the greatest places on Earth, especially for younger generations! I love that city! Hey guys, let's start the M'SIBAH !!! :-))))
34. Re:Sometimes I'm also proud to be an Israeli
GABOR ,   Budapest, Hungary   (11.16.05)
Yes, you should be proud! At least in Tel Aviv !!! Let's continue it! Best wishes from here...
35. To Gil, Tel Aviv
Yossi ,   Jerusalem   (11.16.05)
Get real, Gil. It's only due to the presence of gays that Tel Aviv is being cleaned up and restored at all. The average straight Israeli wants to live on a moshav in a tiny replica of an American suburban tract house, and is too busy changing diapers and wiping snotty noses to worry about "upmarket" and "cultural".
36. Hi Adam
Scott ,   Haifa   (11.16.05)
You know, Adam is right (from comment number 27). And Adam is probably a good Muslim, and God bless you Adam...you know it is really sad when it takes a good Muslim to remind the Jewish people how they should live and conduct themselves (that's not a slur on you Adam). Actually to answer the question, in Leviticus 18 it says: [1] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, [22] Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. So don't anyone get mad at me...I didn't say it, God said it...I don't hate gays either. God is Holy, and homosexuality is not Holy, he created man to be with woman. God also made provision for all to be free from sin (all sins) by giving us His Son (Jesus) to anyone that believes and turns from his or her wrong doing. God loves all people.
37. Greetings for Gay Israelis :-)
Gabor ,   Budapest, Hungary   (11.16.05)
Lots of thanks and greatings for all the nice guys and lesbian friends in POWDER, EVITA, MALE POWER etc... Thanks for the good conversation! We wrote an exciting travel story in our locas gay mag about Israel and Tel Aviv! It was a good success, thanks for your precious oppinions!
38. Yossi (#35)
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (11.16.05)
Yes, any urban American realtor will tell you that gays are the best thing for improving the neighborhood.
39. #4 Bunny, don't worry there are Orthodox Jewish Gays
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (11.16.05)
The guys have a group called HOD, Homosexualim Datiim, and the gals have a group called - wait for it - Orthodykes!
40. TLA The Gay capital?
Bishop T. McDaniels ,   Idaho Falls, USA   (11.16.05)
I am not a member of the Jewish faith. But has your Torah changed how G-d feels about homosexuality? Leviticus 18:22 "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination." Leviticus 20:13 "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them." Is that no longer part of Jewish faith or traditions? I don't understand why homosexuals would go to a city in a country that identifies itself as Jewish, when the basis of the Jewish identity is the Torah that condemns their sexual identification. It's interesting to me that no one wants to set up a pink city in Muslim countries. Why not? They have beaches too. Instead they want to go to a land where their religion stands against them. It sounds as if the Enemy of souls wants to corrupt Israel from within, since it could not do so from the outside: Isaiah 3.8,9 "For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judas is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory. The show of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves." History repeats itself. How sad! BT+
41. To #10 (Think about the salvation of your sons soul)
St. Michael ,   Pearly Gates, Heaven   (11.16.05)
Remember all the talk about the Whore of Babylon, well news for you... its not Rome! the whore of babylon has 7 hills around it, and if you read the bible, Jeruslem matches right up to it. "The great city" is symbolically called Sodom, a reference to Jerusalem, symbolically called "Sodom" in the Old Testament (cf. Is. 1:10; Ezek. 16:1–3, 46–56). We also know Jerusalem is the "the great city" of Revelation 11:8 because the verse says it was "where [the] Lord was crucified." What did God the Father think of Homosexuality? Sodom, a city of Pentapolis (Wisdom 10:6; Genesis 14:2): Sodom, Gomorrha, Adama, Seboim, and Bala -- later called Segor (Genesis 19:22). They were situated in "the country about the Jordan" (Genesis 13:10); their exact location is unknown (cf. Genesis 14:3, 8, 10, 17; 19:20-22, 30, 37; Deuteronomy 34:3). Josephus identifies Segor with "Zoara of Arabia" at the south end of the Dead Sea ("Bel. Jud.", IV, viii, 4; cf. "Ant. Jud.", I, xi, 4; XIII, xv, 4; XIV, i, 4). Conder identifies it with Tell esh-Shaghur, seven miles north of the Dead Sea; Burkhard, Wetstein, and others with Chirbet es-Safich, three miles south of the Dead Sea; E. Robinson puts it on Lisan, etc. For the unnatural sins of their inhabitants Sodom, Gomorrha, Adama, and Seboin were destroyed by "brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven" (Genesis 13:13; 18:20; 19:24, 29; Hosea 11:8). Since then, their names are synonymous with impenitent sin, and their fall with a proverbial manifestation of God's just wrath (Deuteronomy 29:23; 32:32; Isaiah 1:10 sqq.; Ezekiel 16:49; Matthew 11:23 sq.; 2 Peter 2:6; Jude 7). Homosexuality is indeed a psychological development and can be cured with counseling and spiritual direction. In todays society the homosexual movement wants their sin classified as disease and not a choice. It is up to parents today to teach children that homosexual behavior isn't normal and shouldn't be accepted. We need to stand up and take the our world back from the homosexuals: ie: the media, a popular tv show called (will and grace), the newspapers, tv shows, radio shows. American needs to stand up and put out the flaming fire before it ruins us all. Say one Ave for this country!
42. Scott # 36
Tel Aviv Queen ,   Israel   (11.16.05)
God did not write the Bible. It was written by scribes. When I acually hear God telling me that being a homosexual is an abomination to him, I will most certainly be interested to hear why. Meanwhile, only man, it appears, has decided it is a sin. First, let's all work on being good people, then we can talk about this issue.
43. Learn some respect....
an honest person ,   Tel Aviv   (11.16.05)
No need to flaunt your gayness the same way i dont need to flaunt my straghtness... You can have sex with a goat for all I care, but you don;t need a parade or advertising. The truth is you are just a bunch people that feel inferior and need to be center of attention. There aren;t any "straight parades" there are no "the straughtest city is Israel" so why do i, and my children and everyone else need to see that you like to bed over? And dont give me crap about gay rights i belive gays have the same rights as a straight person, but if you saw me dancing, half naked in the street, probably on ecxtasy, sreming "i;m straight and i'm proud" I would be in jail......ironic, no?
44. tel-aviv-gays
Bill ,   norwalk,ca,usa   (11.16.05)
you dont know what God says about it? just look in the bible, love the sinner but hate the sin,and homosexuality IS a sin "man shall lay with man"
45. suggestion: schedule it around yom kippur
Jim V ,   St. Paul, MN   (11.16.05)
Jews have an accountability to their G-d. Take it seriously. Homosexuality is not more fatal than adultery or fraud, but to promote any sin is really unconscionable.
46. Re:#9- Hurricanes
Susan ,   USA   (11.16.05)
Let's not forget about Wilma--- it came the week before "Fantasy Fest", another "gay fest" in the Keys and made them "temporarily" cancel the event. Israel and our country due to its foundation on Judeo-Christian law have received divine protection(85% of Americans still believe in G-d more then just about any other "western country") . Mr Sanow is correct--- anyone who studies the Holy Scriptures know what happens to G-d's people when they turn their back on Him.
47. Re:#35 Yossi
Susan ,   USA   (11.16.05)
You need to get real! Without all those straight Israelis changing diapers and wiping noses there will be no Tel Aviv--- Be grateful ---it is their kids that will contribute taxes to support people like you when you are old and infirm--- at least they contribute to the continuation of the society--- what are the fruits of gay "unions"? ------Disease and death.
48. Yossi
Gil ,   Tel Aviv   (11.16.05)
Only the prescence of gays that Tel Aviv is being cleaned up?? How the hell would you know?? You did a survey? Wow, talk about sweeping generalizations!! The fact is that Tel Aviv is the financial capital of Israel. Its where all the hi-tech companies and banks are based. Many businessmen and wealthy famillies live in this city or its suburbs. Additionally, the huge influx of tourism, for example from France has generated a mini-boom in property in Tel Aviv with brand new blocks going up all around. These are just two non-gay examples that i can offer you. Im sure i could find many many more. maybe its you who needs to get real from your Jerusalem hilltop??
49. Martin
Gil ,   Tel Aviv   (11.16.05)
you seemed to have missed my point. i am saying that germans have a moral responsibility to help preserve the Jewish people and not add to the already difficult situaiton we face living in Israel. I am not saying that being gay is wrong at all. You seem to fancy israeli men which in itself i find curious as to why that has to be the case. For example, why Israel? Or do you fancy any men anywhere? What the Nazis did was wrong but the impact of what they did bears a moral responsibility for German people to uphold. As a German, you joining in to make Tel Aviv "as gay as possible" is very distasteful to the majority of heterosexual Israelis that live here. It shows a distinct lack of respect and selfishness which you seem only too happy to ignore.
50. The sinner people

53. To #50, hassan

they're fun loving and peaceful and they wear beautiful bright colors -- I say why not let them all come over and party down!
55. gay friendly Tel Aviv? Oh mi G-D
alex ,   toronto, canada   (11.16.05)
To all the "concerned" people scared out of their minds that gays will swamp Tel Aviv: relax, it will not happen. we are quite comfortable at home where we are treated like human beings and have all the rights and responsibilities that go with citizenship.
56. Hasan
A Christian ,   America   (11.16.05)
The Holy Land is for the Jews, not for the Muslims who kill children in the streets. It is Israel, not Palestine! Hopefully the real Jews, not the hedonists who support this evil thing, will not allow Tel-Aviv to become a new Sodom. I suspect if the Homosexuals manage to get this scheduled for Yom Kippur as one person suggested, there will be an even greater uproar.
57. #47 and #48
Yossi ,   Jerusalem   (11.17.05)
Gil, Tel Aviv has always been the center of business in Israel. That didn't stop the mainstream population from neglecting the Bauhaus architecture and building cheap crap in the 50s, 60s and 70s. It was gays who started the gentrification of Florentine and Neve Tsedek. Only once it was "hip" did the "upmarket" (i.e. rich and vulgar) crowd move in. Most of the French immigrants and visitors prefer Netanya and Ashdod (i.e. more cheap, flashy junk). Susan, I'm extremely grateful that someone is changing the diapers of the next generation. I willingly pay for schools, pregnancy leave, policing for juvenile delinquents and a host of other services my non-existent offspring will never use. In the case of the ultra-orthodox, I am paying for yeshivas, and life-long welfare in addition to diapers for their 8 o 9 cherubs. It would be nice to be compensated for this in my old age. If they follow in their parents footsteps however, I'll be working until I'm 90 to support THEM as well. We gays pay taxes and serve in the IDF. Is it too much to ask for a small area of one city where we can be in the majority, or at least a large minority? If this small area generates a lot of tourism revenue, what's wrong with that? All the fundamentalist tourists (you know who you are) come mainly to see Jerusalem anyway.
58. armageddon
Adam ,   new york   (11.17.05)
