Any arabic or muslim liberation front is not wery popular in the world because of the terrorists, who wanted to blow down a dozen of aeroplanes. Hizzbollah´s timing and course of action were wrong. the israelis severely underestimated the depth of the firepower supplied by iran to "the party of god?". they underestimated the manner of its deception (underground) and they underestimated its enemies resistance capabilities. for all of those reasons, the ground forces will not go in much further and israel will have been seen as losing the battle. but not the war. this was an intelligence gathering operation as much as anything else. the israelis stepped into lebanon unprepared for this attack. this is a massive intelligence failure on the part of the israelis and therefore its image is tarnished. thus, there will be political consequences. i suspect olmert is out after this cease-fire is implemented. this is the infighting you are seeing and the stop-go problem. the army is wrong. olmert is correct (THIS TIME) but that will not stop the public from castigating him for his reliance on failed intelligence. now that the israelis have seen the enemy and how it operates, it will return to the drawing board, request appropriate weaponry from the US and build up its defense accordingly and will not be fooled again. olmert knows that it is a mistake to send troops in when all his ducks under the circumstances are not in a row. so he wont. had the israelis had better weaponry for this battle and better intelligence, they still would have bombed the roads and bridges so that no further iranian weaponry could resupply. but there would have been more concentrated fighting with the south and less civilian casualties. the israelis will win an all out war if they so choose to fight one. but they choose to win it more quickly and to do so will require the appropriate defense weaponry to soften the enemies underbelly and underground belly. so there will be a ceasfire and nasrallah will appear the victor, for now. there will be a change of leadership in israel and you will see a return to netanyahu's likud and hard line responses as the israelis beef up their defense for the next battle to come whenever that is.

Today's massacre of UNIFIL soldiers and Lebanese civilians which were fleeing from southern Lebanon in a convoy with Red Cross banners - blatant violation of the Geneva conventions - is just the latest in a series of war crimes that cannot go unpunished.

The resistance got two soldiers. IDF bombshelled civilians. What options had the resistance other than retailating. For you to know, try to read about April 96 agreement between Hizbullah and IDF. It has been agreed to keep the civilians out of the war. Over 1000 civilian killed 30% of them kids below 12 year old. Israel is barbaric whether you like it or no. The Human Right Watch organization said it.
