On Sept. 11, 2001, we got word that some of America's Muslim librarians, lawyers and doctors (and their children) were delighted over the atrocities. One of the prominent members of our local Muslim community --- a doctor who, along with his wife, loves his American-born children --- wrote a letter to the editor condemning the terrorism on 9/11 and condemned it as un-Islamic and evil. Several months later, his Palestinian Muslim wife wrote a letter to the editor commending the late Chairman Yasser Arafat for all the good things he did for the Palestinian people. Friends who socialize with our peace-loving Muslim neighbors have told me they believe the Jews basically control the media and many other institutions throughout the world. Still, these are moderate, peace-loving Muslims. Call me suspicious. I have a hard time accepting your optimistic viewpoint. Are there some peaceful Muslims? Probably. I have lately read the book " The Myth of Islamic Tolerance - how islamic Law Thereats Non-muslims" The book is edited by Robert Spencer. I recommend that book to anyone, who will learn something about religious tolerance - or should I say non-tolerance. I am not astonished about Iranian nuclear program and Mr Moshe Sharon´s opinions.
