Constantine was the 1st Christian Emperor of Rome. Nero was the last.
Nevertheless, Rome was rife with paganism to a degree similar to ancient Babylon. This paganism intermingled its influence into Roman Catholic Doctrine.
During his many years of rule Constantine described himself as "Christian". However, he did not formally convert to Christianity until he lay on his deathbed. After death, Constantine was in fact, contrary to Christian doctrine, "deifed" by the Roman government.

Nero lived from 37 to 68 AD, Constantine the Great from 280 to 337 AD.
The last usually is later, not earlier than the first. Or am I wrong?
